Complete Customization
Can all the services be customized? Yes, all of our software can be customized. Most merchants customize the look and feel of their shopping cart and check-out pages, and many add new features or extend the functionality. Many applications, like the one for MyHandshake were written from the ground up as customized code. Can I add modules at a later time? Because iKorb core software is written as object oriented code, any new functionality can be added at anytime, with minimal impact on the rest of the application. Powerful Core Software What makes iKorb software so powerful? iKorb is written in C and PHP. The C code runs the core processes and gives the Merchant great speed, while the PHP runs the individual templates for flexibility. The iKorb Merchant interacts with MySQL 5 giving the application further speed enhancements and stability. iKorb creates a sophisticated catalog management system that is searchable, scalable, and allows multi-level catalog layers. You can create categories, and any number of sub categories above your product pages. Your data base will be completely searchable under key words that you assign as well as your id numbers. Merchant Services Can I have iKorb automatically handle credit card processing? A merchant can handle all credit card processing within the iKorb Admin panel. When an order is placed, iKorb uses Paypal's credit card processing technology, Payflow Pro, to authorize payment and report any potential problems, like fraud orders. The merchant may either batch process any number of orders or process one at a time. The merchant may also refund an account if needed. How does iKorb Manage my Products? iKorb is made up of a number of individual "modules" or mini applications, each of which manages a different business function, like sales or inventory. Each module interacts with all the other modules to update them or notify them of an activity. For example, when a product is ordered, the Sales Module notifies the Inventory module of the order and then subtracts the quantity ordered from the current inventory. If an order needs to be canceled, then each module is notified of the update. Or if there is a problem with the credit card the Customer Service Module is updated, so that customer service is notified of the problem and can deal with the matter quickly and efficiently. Can data be managed and updated in house? You, the merchant, can maintain your online catalog in-house. Catalog items are easily added, modified, or deleted, including product descriptions, graphics, links, prices, shipping costs, and taxes. Can products have attributes like color or size? Individual items may be assigned attributes and properties, such as color, material, and size. These attributes can in turn also have a price or an additional price linked to them. For example if you are selling one product with two colors, and each has a different price you need only create one product with two color attributes, each with a different price.
